A Brief Company History...

Nearly a decade ago, I started a small landscape maintenance company in White Marsh MD, an ever growing Baltimore suburb. At the time, I was working full time for a commercial ambulance company and during evenings and weekends I worked to develop Bayside Lawn & Landscaping. Our landscaping work consisted primarily of residential property maintenance. With the help of a few experienced contractors, I became skilled and efficient at lawn care, pruning, planting, and small landscape construction projects.

As the White Marsh region grew, so too did the company and its scope of work. We had become one of the local leaders in landscaping and expanded our skills to become experts in building the complete landscape. The company had become self reliant and could handle all tasks involved in completing a residential project from start to finish. This included fine grading, hardscaping, water features, plantings, and tree installation.

In 2005, the company was restructured. The new business structure allowed for the growth of the maintenance fleet and provided the opportunity to expand the Design, Install, and Maintenance capabilities of the company. The addition of new machines allowed us to increase our proficiencies and enabled us to compete for larger scaled residential and commercial projects. The growth of the company prompted a change in name and as a result we became Chesapeake Landscape Contractors.

Through the past few years CLC could be seen raising the bar for future landscape projects and companies as they became a symbol of integrity, discipline, efficiency, and hard work. A CLC truck and crew on a job site was a guarantee that the job would be done right.

Since our restructuring, we began to work closely with larger construction companies providing both pre and post construction services that included fine site grading, site development, tree and shrub removal/ relocation/ protection, and installation of landscape products.

Today, as our environment and surrounding ecosystems are struggling to survive, CLC has made monumental efforts to do our share in protecting the environment. We have implemented a series of Chesapeake Bay friendly practices that reduces the amount of pesticides and pollutants our Maintenance Division uses to promote healthy landscapes. Our commercial construction teams apply erosion control practices that minimize run off by utilizing drainage swales that allow surface water to percolate through the soil recharging the ground water supply.

We have worked to regenerate native plant communities through our landscape renovations and in the future we anticipate the addition of a nursery and garden center that will enable us to grow our own native plants.

CLC strives to satisfy all our clients, both large and small by providing impeccable services that result in well designed, constructed, and maintained projects, we intend to leave our clients with head turning results and curb appeal.
